IT Business Development Manager

Your tasks

This position represents BCT to both partners and external customers with primary responsibilities for business development and channel growth for BCT’s core offerings. The primary objectives are pipeline growth through BCT business partners, channel partners, and growth of BCT’s brand reputation through relationship development. The Business Development Manager will be a part of the national sales team and will report to a VP responsible for Sales Operations, Business Development, Alliances, and Channel Development.

  • Drive relationships with BCT partners, both Tier 1 and Tier 2 to position BCT offerings to prospective customers
  • Interface with several large fortune 500 company partner program contacts and their web portals to provide regular contact and customer information
  • When called upon, represent BCT and present services and offerings at partner and customer events
  • Interface with other business development professionals to setup networking and prospect mapping events with the intent to grow pipeline
  • Update BCT’s CRM system with pipeline and prospects as a result of business development efforts
  • Assist our direct sales Account Executive (AE) team by driving pipeline growth activities and events in our five national territories
  • Coordinate, at the national level, with large services partners to grow, develop and maintain relationships, in order to translate to pipeline growth across the regional territories

Skills and Knowledge

  • Ability to quickly learn BCT offerings and solutions and how to leverage them to grow business
  • Exceptional verbal and written communications skills; expertise in setting and managing customer expectations
  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills; critical for both BCT internal and customer facing relationships
  • Experience in all or most of the following technologies: SAP or ERP systems, Windows/Linux operating systems, databases, network, storage, virtualization, high availability, disaster recovery, and security services
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of Managed Service Providers (MSPs) and their offerings
  • Strong multi-tasking capabilities with the ability to maintain a positive attitude while under pressure

Qualifications

  • Minimum of three years’ experience in multiple Information Technology fields (Servers, Databases, Network, etc.)
  • Three to seven years of demonstrated sales or technical business development experience: involving IT strategic solutions or solid knowledge of working in the channel with VARs and Distributors
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Information Systems, Business and Management, Engineering, or related discipline with a requisite level of experience
  • Proven written and oral communications and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated experience in working with technology related external vendors
